WOLVES DRAW LEVEL WITH WIGAN AT THE TOP OF SUPER LEAGUE

DAILY STAR SUNDAY
ABOVE: Warrington Wolves smashed the Bulls
14th March 2010

By Martin Richards

MATT KING ruled the roost again as Warrington drew level with Wigan at the top of the Super League table.

The Australian Test three-quarter picked up two  tries to make it six in three games and set up two more in a rousing second- half showing from the Wolves – as Bradford paid the price for lazy defence and too many turnovers.

Bradford took a 23rd-minute lead with a try from skipper Andy Lynch after Wolves full-back Chris Reilly had knocked on.

Substitute Mickey Higham’s explosive break created a 50th career try for Richie Myler on the half-hour mark. But when former Bradford forward David Solomona went high on Brett Kearney, the Bulls ran the ball at the penalty and Paul Sykes stretched over two minutes from the break.

Ryan Atkins picked up his fi rst try for the Wolves after smart work by King and Solomona on 50 minutes to restore their lead.

Then King went in at the corner from Louis Anderson’s long pass before setting up Atkins. Michael Monaghan grabbed a try, a drop goal and then provided the  kick for the 6ft 3in King to get his second.
